Faces Behind Bishopthorpe Cricket Club 2, Ed Townend If something big is happening at the club, chances are Ed’s behind it. From organising events to driving fundraising, Ed has played a huge role in helping Bishopthorpe Cricket Club grow off the field as well as on it. With our sold-out sports dinner taking place this Friday, it only seems fitting to recognise everything Ed does for the club. Whether it’s a big event, a club social, or bringing new ideas to the table, there’s always a lot going on behind the scenes and Ed’s usually at the centre of it. He’s also very much the club’s own spin doctor and PR guru making sure everything we do gets the attention it deserves and helping raise the profile of the club in the community. But more than that, it’s about what those efforts enable creating opportunities, supporting the club financially, and helping us remove barriers so more people can get involved in the game.
