That's a wrap

The final balls have been bowled and the kit bags have gone into hibernation, lovingly stored away by their players. 🏏 The nights are drawing in, the leaves are beginning to fall and the cricket ground is starting to get a little quieter. But before we all put our feet up and forget about cricket until next April, there's one thing we wanted to do… Say thank you. Thank you to every player who pulled on the Bishopthorpe shirt this season. To those who turned up, played, trained, travelled, scored, bowled, caught, dropped a few 😉 and kept coming back for more. Thank you to everyone who came down to support us — whether you watched every ball, brought the family along, cheered from the boundary or simply stopped by to see what we were about. And a huge thank you to our sponsors and supporters, whose backing continues to help us grow and create opportunities for more people in our community to get involved in cricket. And, of course, to the volunteers who make so much of what happens at Bishopthorpe possible. There are plenty of things you see on a Saturday. There are even more things that happen when nobody is watching. But here's the thing… When we look back at 2026, we're not just looking at another season of cricket. We're looking at a club that's continuing to grow. More players. More children getting involved. More cricket. More people around the club. More ideas about what Bishopthorpe Cricket Club can become. And while the cricket might be finished for another year, the work certainly isn't. Over the next few weeks we'll be looking back at some of the people, moments and achievements that made 2026 special — and sharing a few glimpses of what we're already working towards for 2027.
